Udayanraje Bhonsle joins Bharatiya Janata Party

Mr. Bhonsle was earlier a member of the BJP. He had also served as the member of the state cabinet of the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance in the Maharashtra Assembly in 1998.

Udayanraje is the 13th holder of the title of Chhatrapati.

Saturday (September 14): Former NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) Member of Parliament Chhatrapati Udayanraje Bhonsle has finally joined BJP today. Several party leaders including party President Amit Shah and Maharashtra CM Devendra Phadnavis were present at the event.

Mr. Bhonsle submitted his resignation as a member of Lok Sabha yesterday.

BJP President Amit Shah said, “Today Chhatrapati Shivaji’s descendent, who started a huge ideological movement of Swadesh and Swadharma during difficult times and established the Swaraj after several struggles, his descendant Udayanrajeji has joined BJP. I warmly welcome him on behalf of crores of BJP workers.”

Mr. Bhonsle is three-time MP from Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). He was earlier a member of the BJP and had even served as the member of the state cabinet of the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance in the Maharashtra Assembly in 1998.
