An M.Tech from IIT Bombay joins Railway ‘Group D’ service for job security

Shravan Kumar, who hails from Bihar’s capital Patna, has pursued integrated duel degree (B. Tech + M. Tech) from one of the premier institutes where to get admission is the dream of almost every Indian student who wants to become an engineer  –  IIT Bombay!

But after completing his education, he did not opt for any private job. Instead he has now taken up the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Group D job in Dhanbad, according to a report in Hindustan Times.

When asked as to why has he taken up a job like RRB Group D even after passing from a premier institute like IIT Bombay, he answered, as reported by Live Hindustan, that government jobs offer job security, which is not there in case of private jobs.

He is posted at Chandrapura and looks after the track maintenance between Chandrapura and Telo section. His work profile includes manual inspection of tracks.
