Man arrested in Palghar district for manufacturing country-made fire arms

In the raid the police seized three country-made single-bore guns, 21 live cartridges, 84 pellets and other accessories used for making firearms.

Thursday (October 17): A man was arrested by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) for allegedly manufacturing firearms at his home in Pargaon village of Saphale town, Palghar district, the police said today.

Acting on a tip-off, Palghar ATS raided the home of Chima Baraf (56) at Pargaon in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Tuesday.

In the raid the police seized three country-made single-bore guns, 21 live cartridges, 84 pellets and other accessories used for making firearms, Palghar police PRO Hemant Katkar said.

Chima has been arrested under relevant sections of Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Reforms Act, the official added.
