Friday (September 13): According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO is moving ahead with yet another prequel show to its smash-hit series “Game of Thrones”.
Though HBO has not yet officially confirmed the prequel, reporter said, the network is nearing a pilot commitment for a prequel series based on Geroge RR Martin’s “Fire & Blood”, a companion book to the author’s “Song of Fire and Ice” saga. The pilot of the new prequel is set 300 years before the events of the flagship series that tracks the beginnings and the end of House of Targaryen.
The prequel will also feature Josh Whitehouse, Miranda Richardson, Naomi Ackie, Denise Gough, and Jamie Campbell Bower.
Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss for HBO. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin’s series of fantasy novels, attracted a record viewership on HBO and has a broad, active, and international fan base. The series received 47 Primetime Emmy Awards, the most by a drama series.
