Shiv Sena doesn’t need the BJP for chief minister’s post: Uddhav Thackeray’s “Balasaheb” avatar in press conference

Recalling Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray said he had promised his father that one day the Shiv Sena will have a chief minister in Maharashtra.

"I don't need any certificate from you on who is speaking the truth. You feel there is no trust between us, then, we too don't have any trust on Amit Shah and company." Uddhav Thackeray said.

Saturday (November 9): In his special Thackeray style, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and accused its top leaders of lying and betraying the Shiv Sena.

“I am not a BJP wala. I do not lie. They had promised us and are now going back on their words,” Uddhav Thackeray said addressing a press conference in Mumbai.

Uddhav Thackeray yesterday was seen in the late Balasaheb Thackeray’s avatar while talking to reporters in the press conference.

“Until you (BJP) don’t accept that you lied that there was no talk on the chief minister’s post, I will not talk to you. I don’t need any certificate from you on who is speaking the truth. You feel there is no trust between us, then, we too don’t have any trust on Amit Shah and company.” he said in a straight-forward tone.

Uddhav Thackeray alleged that the BJP tried to “finish us with sweet talk”.

“Shiv Sena doesn’t need the BJP for chief minister’s post. Equal sharing of power was agreed upon in Amit Shah’s presence. I am shocked and hurt over being labelled as liar by the BJP,” he said.

Uddhav Thackeray said BJP’s attempts to prove Shiv Sena as liar is unacceptable.

Recalling Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray said he had promised his father that one day the Shiv Sena will have a chief minister in Maharashtra.

He said the Shiv Sena is firm on its demand for having its chief minister in Maharashtra to fulfil the promise he had made to his father.

“We are firm on the demand for CM’s post. I will fulfil the promise made to my father to install a Shiv Sena CM. I don’t need Amit Shah or Devendra Fadnavis for this,” Uddhav Thackeray said.

Responding to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attack on the Shiv Sena and claim that he has not been answering his calls, Uddhav Thackeray said, “I stopped talks with BJP because it tried to prove me liar.”

“Shiv Sena doesn’t think of BJP as an enemy, but BJP should not make false claims.”
