Thursday (September 5): As elections to Maharashtra State Assembly start approaching, political parties have started solving seat-sharing equations with allies. Bhartiya Janata Party has today initiated talks with Shiv Sena and other NDA (National Democratic Alliance) constituents over seat-sharing.

It is reported that BJP is likely to contest on 160 seats while Shiv Sena claims not less than 110. According to sources, though the recent meeting was held between senior Shiv Sena leaders Subhash Desai and Prakash Patil with BJP Minister Girish Mahajan, the final decision on seat-sharing has not made yet.

BJP president Amit Shah, while addressing a ‘Mahajanadesh Yatra’ rally in Solapur on Sunday, announced Mr. Fadnavis as the next Maharashtra CM candidate. “Devendra Fadnavis deserves another term to take the development work ahead,” said Shah.

In the camp of Shiv Sena, on the other hand, Aaditya Thackeray is likely to be the CM candidate as he is going to contest polls. Yuva Sena president Aaditya Thackeray, if contests polls, will be the first from the Thackeray family to do so.
